Jean Scheid is a former business owner with experience in the franchise industry as well as independent business experience. She first became intrigued by energy issues, the environment, renewable and non-renewable resources in 1996 when she moved to Taos, New Mexico. In Taos, she joined the Bioneeers, an eco-conscious group that focuses on saving and repairing, and educating the public, on Earth’s valuable resources.
Jean is also Hubspot Certified for Inbound Marketing.
Part of Jean’s time in Taos was spent as a board member of Yaxche Learning Center, a non-profit 501(c) 3 K-8 Elementary school where she researched, wrote and received state energy-specific grants to fund green projects, outdoor education trips and community garden programs for Yaxche. When Yaxche Learning Center decided to relocate and purchase the former estate of Navajo artist R.C. Gorman, Jean was on the committee responsible for rebuilding the facility to meet LEED energy standards.
In New Mexico, Jean was co-owner of three businesses, Scheid Motor Company, a Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep dealership; Scheid Automotive Group, a Ford dealership; and Scheid Body and Paint, an independent auto collision and paint repair facility. Jean used her business owner acumen to donate to non-profit organizations such as the Taos Valley Acequia Association, whose mission is the sustainability of the Taos Valley by protecting water rights and surrounding acequia systems.
Since moving to Austin, Texas, Ms. Scheid has spent 100 percent of her time on freelance writing for a variety of clients including ghost blogging, social media branding, keyword and SEO research and marketing and branding and specializes in original content and research.
Jean holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Human Resource Management from the University of Pittsburgh and has utilized her work experience and entrepreneurial efforts to connect with others within her community. She also offers small business advice via her association with SCORE, a division of the Small Business Administration.
Beyond being the President and owner of Don’t Have Time to Write, Jean has contributed to CopyPress and was a senior writer and contributing editor at Bright Hub. She has written for other online websites such as Love-to-Know, Suite101, HubPages and the Examiner. Her print publication work includes the Sterling McFadden Group, Glimmer Train Press, the Taos News and Sunrise SEO.
Jean is married to Bill Scheid and has two daughters, Rachel and Julie. As avid animal lovers, Jean and Bill Scheid often say they would change their entire day to help a sick or injured animal.
